Timothy Gowers asks a very interesting question about whether there is a
theory of "easily described" Banach spaces which are necessarily nicely
behaved (e.g., they must have some l_p or c_0 subspace). The intuition
is that the "nasty" counterexamples in Banach space theory seem to have
norms that are hard to compute. For more details, go to
