I didn't agree with your stuff about "the north pole" and "the south
pole," and your comments about proper names, but I don't wish to join the
fray on this. See K. on "mouth of the Dart." Re: definite descriptions,
I couldn't tell what F. had been taking for granted. For example, it may
have been implicit in his remarks that something in the north could not be
identical to something in the south. To me, this is not at all the same as
the evening-morning star issue. But, as I said, I don't know the context
of F's statements, and I'm not intending to get into any further discussion
of either proper names or definite descriptions. So, I suppose the proper
attitutude toward my not agreeing with you is just to note it and ignore it.
However, since you asked whether everyone agrees, I thought I should at
least register the fact that I don't.
