Barry Mazur has just published an interesting article
"Abelian Varieties and the Mordell-Lang conjecture" that
touches on some of the effectivity questions related to Falting's
theorem. It appears in the recently published book
"Model Theory, Algebra, and Geometry", D. Haskell, A. Pillay &
C. Steinhorn ed., MSRI publications, Camb. Univ Press 2000.
